3 Club Kickup

Description: The 3 club kickup is another great move for a flashy start.  It's extremely difficult to do during passing (unless you kickup a bouquet where the clubs don't split), but as a solo trick it may be easier than you think.

The Placement:  Place the 3 clubs next to each other on your foot.  The middle club's knob is on the bottom.  The back club's knob is on top of that, and the front club's knob is on the top as always.  The front and back clubs should be about even, but the middle club should stick out as shown in the picture below.

The Kickup:  The kickup is going to be similar to the 2 club kickup even though the catch is completely different.  Keep in mind where you want the clubs to end up before you catch them (unlike the 2 club kickup, none of the clubs should end up on the other side of your body).  Pay special attention to the middle club (since that will be your high club), and the back club (since this club is the most problematic for collisions).  Make sure that the back club's knob catches on the middle club.  If you have collision problems, try to change your aim just like with the 2 club kickup.  Your goal is to have all of them spin in a plane that is parallel to the direction that the middle club is pointing during placement, so don't pull your leg back too far during the kickup.

The Catch:  If you do your kickup correctly, you should  be able to turn 90 degrees toward the clubs and catch the lower two as single spins and the higher one as a double spin.  Aside from the 90 degree turn, this catch should be the same as if you had thrown yourself a 3 club split.  Even if the high club doesn't make it all the way up to a double spin, you should still have enough time to catch the lower two and go straight into a three club cascade possibly catching the high club as a 1 1/2 spin.
